Rust Plant Genetics Calculator | AR Rust Hub
Model Rust planter crossbreeding, target genes, neighbor pressure, and ranked center to donor routes.
- Model how the center plant and its neighbors vote on every gene slot.
- Target exact gene strings and rank the best center to donor route.
- See a per-slot breakdown of held, flipped, and contested genes.
Interactive calculators, live lookups, and authenticated features become available after the client app loads.
How it works
- Enter visible gene strings or use the capture workflow where available.
- Set the target gene result you want the planter to chase.
- Compare the weighted crossbreed outcome and per-slot resolution.
Data and methodology
Every plant in the planter votes per gene slot: matching genes stack, G, Y and H weigh 0.6 while W and X weigh 1.0, the highest total weight wins, and equal totals split evenly by chance. The center plant is pooled in as an equal competitor, not locked in.
FAQ
- What is a target gene?
- It is the gene string you want the planner to optimize for in the next clone generation.
- Does the center plant keep its genes?
- No. The plant being crossbred votes at the same weight as each neighbor, so an equal-weight neighbor can tie or replace its gene.
- Are probabilities exact?
- They are model estimates from the current Rust gene-slot rules and should be checked against in-game results when Rust changes.
